Project Overview

Panacea Building Systems was appointed to deliver both the structural solution and internal fit-out for a dual-use development in Bowdon, Cheshire, consisting of a new 51-bed care home for Dunham Care and a children’s nursery for Back to the Garden Childcare. The project demands a high degree of technical adaptability, as it brings together two distinct building types on a single site.

Scope of Works

Panacea Building Systems involvement spans both the superstructure and specialist internal works. Key project components include:

  • Pre-panelised Light Gauge Steel Frame (LGSF) structural system for the care home

  • Ultra panel roofing system incorporating metal joisted roof cassettes

  • Offsite fabrication of all bespoke panels at Panacea Building Systems Altrincham manufacturing facility, located just 2 miles from site

  • Full drylining, suspended ceiling and plastering works for both the care home and the nursery

  • Design and installation of a bespoke SFS infill package for the nursery building

  • 2024–ongoing project delivery

  • Although still ongoing, the project already demonstrates Panacea Building Systems strength in delivering innovative structural systems, efficient offsite manufacturing and comprehensive internal fit-out solutions. The dual-building approach highlights Panacea Building Systems flexibility and capability to support clients with diverse operational requirements within a single scheme. Upon completion, the development will provide Dunham Care and Back to the Garden Childcare with modern, well-designed facilities built to high performance, safety and quality standards.
