Bramhall, Cheshire – 70 Bed Care Home for Newcare (2019)

Main Contractor: McGoff Construction Limited
Specialist Contractor: Panacea Buildings Systems
Contract Value: £1,292,000

Project Overview

Newcare commissioned the design and construction of a modern 70-bed care home in Bramhall, Cheshire. The project required a high-quality structural solution capable of meeting demanding programme and site constraints while ensuring longterm durability and safety for residents.

Scope of Works

The project involved the construction of a 3-storey care home using a full Metframe structural solution, complemented by a bespoke roof build-up and complete internal drylining package. Key elements included:

  • Metframe superstructure erected over three floors.

  • Bespoke roof structure utilising a combination of hot rolled steel and engineered timber joists.

  • Full drylining installation, including walls and ceilings, delivered to tested and certified performance standards.

  • Careful logistics planning due to restricted site access and proximity to a high-speed railway line.

Outcome

  • The completed 70-bed care facility provides Newcare with a high-quality, durable, and compliant building delivered safely within a challenging environment. The combination of Metframe construction and precise logistical planning enabled the Panacea Building Systems team to meet the client’s expectations on programme, quality, and cost.
