Main Contractor: McGoff Construction Limited
Specialist Contractor: Panacea Buildings Systems
Contract Value: £1,060,000

Project Overview

Newcare commissioned the development of a modern 70-bed care home in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. The project required an efficient structural approach combined with adaptability to address site-specific constraints, particularly around party wall limitations.

Scope of Works

The project involved the construction of a 3-storey care home, completed using a hybrid of rapid Metframe-style construction techniques and traditional methods where required. Key elements included:

  • Full structural build completed within 12 weeks

  • Timber trussed roof installation

  • Comprehensive drylining package, including partitions and ceilings

  • Integration of traditional construction methods in restricted party wall areas

Outcome

  • The completed 70-bed care home offers Newcare a high-quality, durable, and functionally efficient facility delivered within a tight programme. Despite the additional complexity introduced by party wall constraints, Panacea Building Systems successfully integrated both traditional and accelerated construction methods to achieve a seamless final result.
